What I Love About WORDLE

Daily encouragement

The first act of mental gymnastics I do every morning is WORDLE, which is a web-based word game where I have six tries to guess the five-letter word-for-the-day. I’m aided by colour-coded feedback about whether the letters I’d chosen aren’t in the word -for-the-day, or they’re in it but not in that position, or a letter is in that position but the word isn’t correct.
What I like about it is the daily bit of encouragement I get.
For example, if I guess the word straightaway (which I’ve never done), a message will flash up on the screen saying GENIUS. Wow, if that ever happened, what a start to my day that would be!
The positive message I receive depends on how many attempts I take to guess the word. Although they decrease in their level of praise the more attempts I make, the message is still positive.
Here they are in order:
Genius
Magnificent
Impressive
Splendid
Great
Phew
Yesterday WORDLE flashed the message PHEW because I deduced the word on my sixth attempt, but this morning WORDLE told me I was SPLENDID so there’s a smug smile on my face.
How often does anyone praise you in the morning before you’ve taken your first sip of water, tea or coffee?
Encouragement
Doing WORDLE and sensing the pleasure I get from the positive feedback is a daily reminder to be encouraging to others.
We don’t need praise or appreciation, but it can lighten our load, ease mental anguish, encourage us to keep going.
Let’s learn from a web-based word game.
Let’s brighten someone's day with encouragement, in the form of praise or appreciation.
Here’s an encouraging message to everyone reading this post:
You are MAGNIFICENT!
And I mean that.
With love, Marlane

The significant easiness of positive reinforcement whether to give or being honored to receive is a pleasure that belongs to the small joys in life yet important to be named thank you this thoughtful post
